Massive race locked in, new release & more.

Hey guys,

You may have realised that I didn't send my usual founder update last week (or you may not have!).

Unfortunately I was pretty sick last week, but I actually didn't have anything to say!

Usually I have stacks to share, insights or behind the scenes content to share with you, but last week was pretty flat.

And so I never want to send you an update to your inbox for the sake of keeping up a streak, if there isn't anything of value to share.

But today is not that day.

I had too many things to share. So much so that a couple things had to get cut to ensure this weekly founder update doesn't turn into an essay.

Firstly I'm happy to announce that we've been given the go-ahead to activate at the Sydney Marathon!

I'm absolutely stoked. The buzz around the event this year is going to be wild.

It will also be our first attendance at a race in NSW, so I'm really looking forward to meeting many of you that I know are running.

It was a bit of a mad dash yesterday morning.

The applications opened for the Sydney Mara Running Show at 10am.

Now, they sent out an email to all the brands the day before with the launch time. So there was a bit of hype, with this year being something of a monumental race.

And although it's still an application/approval process, assuming you're an approved brand and meet all of the requirements, it's a first-in booking system.

In my many years of being a founder on the brand side, I know that almost nothing opens at the exact time it says it will. They will almost always give themselves a few minutes to make sure everything's working before all the communications go out.

So there I was, refreshing from 9.40am like I was trying to secure tickets to a Taylor Swift concert.

Not only were we the first ones in, but I was then able to get the spot that I really wanted.

Now, let's just say I'll be eating tuna & rice for the foreseeable after paying the hefty bill that comes with such a prestigious event.

But I don't care.

I'm so excited to be getting amongst what will be an iconic race week.
