I wonder if there will be a time when I write this weekly founder newsletter and I don't start with something like 'well it's been a crazy week'.
Well, it's been a crazy week.
There's a lot happening at the moment! From pre-orders, to new stock, events, restocks and more.
I've been in this world for quite a while now. And this time of the year always gets the blood pressure going a little bit. It's the silly season.
The retail world ramps up.
So from a business perspective, pardon my French, but we've got to make sure we've got our shit together.
From stock, to warehousing to dispatch and customer support. Everything needs to tightened up for this time of the year.
So with that comes a little bit more pressure.
Some longer hours.
A bit (a lot) more stress.
Some longer hours.
A bit (a lot) more stress.
But it's all part of the fun. I knew what I signed up for.
You have to love it. Because if you don't, it makes the 5am wake ups, or the 11pm responding the emails almost impossible.
Luckily, I do love it.
A lot of what I do at Runly fuels my purpose. Building a brand, creating and innovating on performance products & helping to bring people together through community.
So, I feel privileged to be able to do that.
In some ways I find calm amongst the chaos. Events, and travel for work have added another layer of complexity, and adventure to that this year.
In a small business like ours, whether you're on the road or in the air, things still have to be done.
We're a two-person team. We share the load and get it done.
But this year we're going to tick off thirteen events! That's epic!
Honestly, that has been a game-changing decision for us to get involved at community events.
Not just from a brand perspective, but for me personally, to meet a lot of you in person, get feedback, hear your stories, have a laugh, you can't beat it.
I thrive on the 3-4am wake up and drive down the coast to a community event with coffee in hand. It's something that I get a lot of joy out of.
But, we've just agreed to a much more local event.
And it's a pretty big one.
We're going to be activating at the 2XU Wellness Run in Melbourne on Dec 1st.
This is an event I've always admired. It's a mix of serious racers, charity, community building and well, just vibes.
13,000 runners will hit the Bay for a scenic trot.
Absolutely pumped to be involved in this one. That will make it 13 events for us this year.
We set a goal of 10 or more events for the year, and we got there, including our major home town marathon.
PRE-ORDERS ARE ON THE WAY!
Firstly, just a big thank-you to everyone who has placed a pre-order for the R700. It's been our biggest pre-order to date, with the most stock we've ever had come in one go.
I know it's never ideal to pre-order, then have to wait a certain amount of time to receive your product.
But hopefully the wait is worth it!
You know, doing pre-orders is really tough. If I had a choice I'd never do them. I'd have a warehouse filled to the brim with stock ready to go.
But unfortunately as is the nature of small business, it doesn't always work that way!
Don't worry, we're working on it.
So thanks once again to the absolute legends that have pre-ordered, you're awesome.
