Stories, Community & Big Restock ⚡
Hey legends!
You know, one of the best parts of what I do is having a lot of conversations with interesting people.
Yesterday, I was chatting to someone on email who had purchased a running vest. She said something to the tune of 'I never identified as a runner'.
She went on to say that after all the support she has received in her running journey, she actually feels like she has become a 'runner'.
That's not uncommon. I have that conversation often with runners.
In another time, we had this picture of what a runner should look like. You've probably got the same image in your head.
Tall. Slim. Fast.
But the modern runner is different.
It's less about being the fastest on the course, and more about the community.
Running is one of those communities that can bring people together again and again, and again, and it's just as special and unique as the last.
I talk about community a lot in this newsletter, because the running community in my humble opinion, is unrivalled.
Of the thirteen races I've attended this year, I've probably had close to 2,000+ conversations with interesting people.
Isn't that wild?!
People from all walks of life. Old, young, fast, slow.
I've met people who have shared their story of overcoming a drug addiction, turning their life around and are now training for a 100km race.
Incredible.
I've met people who are pulling communities together through the power of events and sport.
I've met someone who finishes last in every race they take part in & they're grinning from ear to ear every time they cross the finish line.
I've met hundreds of people running in their first ever race, filled with nervous energy.
I've met an older gentleman from a town of 700 people who every year without fail, sits at an 'aid station' on top of a mountain in the heat by himself to make sure that the runners of the this very small event have enough water. Genuine local legend.
But all of them, every single one of them, embrace this community that they've found themselves in.
Long may these communities continue to bring people together. We all need more of that.
In next week's newsletter I'm going to be highlighting a Runly ambassador that is doing some truly special things in his community. More to come.
🚨 R700'S ARE BACK!
Oh my. It's been forever since we've actually had our R700 Hydration Vests stocked and in the warehouse, rather than on pre-order.
Over the last two weeks we've sent off so many R700 pre-orders. It's been crazy. Once again thank you to those that secured their vest via the pre-order!
After selling out ten times in a row, they're now back and available.
If you've been eyeing off the R700 for a while, now is your time!
🧦 NEW LTD EDT SOCKS
We've just dropped two new pairs of limited edition socks!
That's all for this week.
