Where Is the Expo Held?
The ASICS Sport and Leisure Expo is held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach.
Expo Opening Hours:
Thursday 2 July 10:00am to 7:00pm
Friday 3 July 9:00am to 7:00pm
Saturday 4 July 9:00am to 4:00pm
All runners must attend the Expo to collect their race bib. The expo this year is the biggest it has ever been - expanded to four halls of the exhibition centre. It features local and national running brands, including Runly.

Our humble little booth at the 2025 Gold Coast Marathon expo.
How Do I Collect My Race Bib?
Bring your race entry ticket printed or digital and a valid photo ID.
Bib collection is only available during Expo hours. There is no race morning collection.
A third party may collect on your behalf if they meet the official documentation requirements.
The quietest and fastest time to collect your bib at the expo is the first hour of each morning. It's also the best time to browse the expo activations and shop some race + training gear.
What Time Should I Arrive on Race Morning?
Arrive at least 60 minutes before your start time. The Marathon and Half Marathon attract the largest fields and require early arrival due to road closures and transport restrictions.
Plus, for peace of mind, give yourself enough time to be fully ready to go, use the toilets that are available, stretch up and do your final preparation. There is nothing worse than being stressed and rushed while heading to the start line.
How Do Start Zones Work?
Start zones are assigned based on predicted finish time and apply to the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km.
Participants must start in their allocated zone for safety and race flow management.
Are There Official Pace Runners?
Yes.
Marathon Pace Groups:
3:00 through 6:00 in 15 minute increments
Half Marathon Pace Groups:
1:30 through 3:00
10km Pace Groups:
0:40, 0:45, 0:50, 0:55, 1:00, 1:05, 1:10, 1:20, 1:30
Pace runners assist athletes in maintaining consistent pacing toward goal finish times. It can be a great way to get into a flow during the race, and run alongside people who are aiming to finish around the same time as you.
All pacers wear large banners on their back which indicate a pace/finishing time.
What Is the Course Like?
The Gold Coast Marathon is recognised for being flat, fast and scenic. It is AIMS certified and is known as one of Australia’s most PB friendly courses.
The course runs along the Broadwater and coastal roads.
Official 2026 course maps are expected to be confirmed soon. It is well known in the local running community as the course to run a PB because of the low elevation, however keep in mind it possible that there is a degree of humidity, which can be challenging if you're not used to it.
What Support Is Available On Course?
Hydration and Nutrition:
Fixx Nutrition Fuel X Tropical Fruits flavour
Water at refreshment stations
As always, we recommend where possible to carry your own hydration and fuel in a running belt or running vest.
Medical:
On course medical teams
Identifiable medical runners in orange vests
Marathon specific WBGT heat flag system every 5km
Recovery Area Participants Only:
Electrolyte drink
Water
Fruit
Medical centre
Finisher medal
Finisher shirt for Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km participants
Junior Dash participants receive a medal.
What Should Spectators Know?
The main race precinct and finish line are located along the coast, with large spectator zones near the start and finish areas.
Tips for Spectators:
Arrive early due to road closures
Use public transport where possible
Plan a clear post race meeting point
Track runners using official race tracking
The Marathon and Half Marathon begin at sunrise, providing strong visibility and scenic viewing conditions. There are some great hubs along the route for viewing, cheer as loud as you can for every runner doing their best going past!

What Are the Wheelchair Event Rules?
Participants must use a recognised racing wheelchair. Hand cycles and mechanical gears are not permitted. A mandatory race briefing is held prior to race day at Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise.
What Is the Gold Coast Double?
The Gold Coast Double combines the Saturday Half Marathon and Sunday Marathon.
Finishers receive both standard race medals plus an additional Double medal and commemorative gift.
