Two exciting things I'm working on this week ✍️
Hey guys,
When I wrote last week's newsletter, I was pretty burnt out.
It had been a huge three weeks, and I had probably taken on more than I could handle. That happens. It's life.
This week has been much nicer. Things are flowing, working on the right things, and having a good balance.
I'm sure you can relate.
This slightly slower-paced week has definitely helped me to reconnect a little bit with the important work that needs to be done.
⚡ WHAT I'M WORKING ON
NEW PRODUCTS
Now, I have always said that I never want Runly to be this machine where we are constantly releasing new products for the sake of it.
That's not what we're about.
Any new product needs to serve a strong purpose. I'm big on that.
Let's innovate on things that ultimately help us make the running experience better and more fulfilling for our community (you).
This week I ticked off on two new products after a lot of design revisions, tweaks and samples.
But don't get your hopes up too soon! These are scheduled for the backend of this year, if everything goes to plan.
It's not just about new products either. We're also constantly working to improve our core range of products. You may not even notice, but every couple of months we make very small tweaks to improve them.
It may be something as small as moving a piece of material just a couple of mm up, down left or right. Little things add up and make a big difference.
🖥️ EXPO BOOTH DESIGN
As you know, we've been accepted as one of the exhibitors at the Gold Coast Marathon - massive.
Just to be there is amazing, and I'm again grateful that Australian races are promoting independent Australian brands.
But we don't just want to be there. I've spoken before about the logistical nightmare that is activating at events far and wide.
Before we even step foot on the Gold Coast, the reality is that we're looking at between six and ten thousand dollars in expenses.
Now I don't care who you are, that is a serious amount of money.
There are costs such as expo fees, logistics in getting stock up from Melbourne, accomodation, flights, road costs, insurance, displays, staff & more.
But why do I tell you this?
Because we are committing so much already to be there, we might as well make a splash and make our space stand out.
Now, keep in mind when you see this. I am not a graphic designer. But this is a very, very rough idea of how I want our space to look:
It's pretty simple, really.
