Let's talk about momentum.

Let's talk about momentum.

Hey guys!

Hope you're having an amazing week.

You know, one thing I really value is momentum.

It's extremely hard to get, and easy to lose.

If you've got momentum, it makes things a lot easier. It's like running with the wind behind you in a race.

Momentum is useful for many aspects of life.

For example, routine.
A strong routine gives you momentum to just get through every day life. Whatever it is - going to bed at a reasonable time, getting up at a consistent time, going for a run, making a coffee, driving to work, making lunch, picking up the kids, calling your Nan, watering the garden, meal prepping for the next day or reading a book.

All of those very small things add up, build momentum and make it easier for the next day.

But if (when) something disrupts your routine, it makes it really hard to build back up that consistency.

And momentum.

That's how I've felt over the last month.

Like many of you, I'm a creature of habit.

Wake up early.
Shower.
Coffee.
Work.
Exercise.
Walk the dog.
Cook.
Go to bed early.

But in the last month I've travelled for work, gotten really sick and also had knee surgery. So my routine has been way out of whack.

That's life, sure.

But what happens is you lose your momentum.

So this week I've finally been back in a 'somewhat' normal routine. Albeit hobbling around on crutches.

Someone messaged me on Instagram yesterday to check-in on my knee. They said the hardest thing for an active person, is well, not being active.

And that is very true.

I can't wait to add exercise back into my routine for some more normality.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The next month is epic.

Runly will be attending three awesome events.
First up is our local event at the Maribyrnong River Run. This is a sold out event. Around 1500 people will race along the Maribyrnong River this Sunday.

Next we'll be heading down the coast to the beautiful Warrnambool Running Festival in Western Victoria on the 22nd of September.

If you're running, or in the area for these events - come say hello!

And finally we'll be activating at the Melbourne Marathon for the first time.
This will be an incredible opportunity and experience being a part of our iconic local marathon.

That's all for this week.

Keep the momentum,
Robbie.
