RUNLY NEWSLETTER #116
Thurs June 26th 2025

We are so close to the Gold Coast Marathon. My word.

In just four days I'll be making my way up to the Gold Coast to get ready for arguably our biggest event so far.

Now, I would also say, most stressful.

Things are just well, harder, when it's so far away from home.

Last year we did the Melbourne Marathon expo (which was incredible), but it was in our own backyard.

Every night we'd drive home, restock, replenish & pick up whatever we needed.

Oh we need scissors? Great, I'll bring some tomorrow. Displays need a clean? I'll bring some spray and wipes.
We're short on pink vests? I'll get some sent over from the warehouse today.

But when you're so far away from home, you don't have that luxury.

For the most part, it will just be me up there (so please stop and say hello, lol).

But I've got no car to get supplies, no warehouse to quickly restock and everything must be delivered to the exhibition centre in a 12-hour window.

It's cut-throat.

Have I brought too much stock? Not enough? We're going to find out the hard way.

And so much planning goes into making sure we can even be there and get setup.

Not to mention last week when we tried to setup our new expo display, we left it for just a second, a gust of wind came through unexpectedly and knocked it right over, twisting one of the parts.

Luckily we got the replacement parts in time, but it shows that just one mistake, and you might not even have a display.

Will stock get there in time? Or will it be too early and get turned back?

Will our displays make it in time? Will our flights be delayed? Our eftpos machine work? And most importantly, what if I spill coffee on my Runly hoodie :(

There's much to consider, and plan.

But I'm sure it will work out.

Right?

Right?

If you're heading the Gold Coast marathon come say hello, take a picture & check out the entire range of belts & vests!

🧦 SO, DID YOU KNOW WE SELL SOCKS?

Okay, this might sound stupid to many of you.

But four people this week told me they had no idea that we sold socks.

Here's how that conversation went.

Me: Oh yeah our socks are super popular!

Them: woah woah woah, hold it right there. You guys sell socks?

I get it, we're known for our running vests, there's no doubt about it.

But our socks have been quiet achievers.

*quickly runs the numbers*

8,000 pairs of Runly socks have been sold.

It's kind of a lot, isn't it?

I'm sure 2XU, Steigen & other big sock brands won't be shaking in their boots with numbers like that.

But hey, the feedback on them have been unbelievable.

231 verified reviews with an average rating of 4.89/5. Can't complain about that!

I promise you this is not me trying to sell you a pair of socks.

BUT. lol.

Our current collection of socks are designed to be really comfy for your long runs, and trail runs.

They're 80% cotton, and a nice plushy cotton, with some nylon and elastane woven in for a bit of give.

You can check out the sock range here: the best darn' socks there ever was.

Thanks always for your support. I'm not sure if I'm going to have the capacity for a founder update next week in the middle of the GC expo, but we'll see how we go!

Run well,
Robbie
