Event Recap, Special Mornings & Community

Hey guys!

Things have been going a million miles an hour lately!

My to-do list is definitely getting longer, that's for sure.

We're in a really busy period behind the scenes. Managing pre-orders, incoming stock, events and planning for the busy backend of the year.

The photo you see above was from our event on the weekend - Peaks & Trails in Dunkeld, Southern Grampians.

It was a ripper event.

A community event that brings together locals, as well as some from Melbourne and South Australia, for a spectacular run across the Grampians.

We took advantage of the opportunity to be amongst the event and went up early on the Saturday to enjoy it.

A hike, a coffee in town and a drive up the road for dinner was an absolute treat when you've got 360 views of the Grampians.

Up early on the Sunday, around 5.30am.

Despite the forecast for a sunny day, we woke up to a chilly morning, with ice frosted over the wind-screen.

A 3-minute drive across town and we were setting up the marquee before 6am.

We rocked up to a couple of fire pits already burning, with picturesque hay bales plotted around the fire pits.

With the mountains superbly situated behind the start line, and the sun beginning to rise, it was a magical sight.

You couldn't ask for a more scenic hub for a running event.

Once we got setup, we took 10 steps across to enjoy the warmth of the fire and chat with some earlybird runners prepping for the 50km.

It doesn't get much better than that.

From the photo, you may also notice our new displays!

They look fantastic.

But they are an absolute menace to install and take down 😅

We spent several hours during the week testing them out, setting them up and taking them down.

If you thought putting together a piece of Ikea furniture was painful, you ain't seen nothing!

Fair to say we're going to try and minimise the need to pack these away fully, as I'm not sure I can bear the unpleasantness of putting these good-lookin' displays back together!

We got these displays in anticipation for the Melbourne Marathon in October.

So we've got a couple more events before then to give them a good test run and get really good at assembling them!

On the topic of events, Australia was spoilt for choice over the weekend.

It was events galore.

The City2Surf Sydney was absolutely pumping, the Devilbend Trail Run was a big hit by all reports and a shoutout to friend of the brand Dean Milligan, who launched the inaugural Kwat Kwat Trail Run in Northern Vic.

The running community is like nothing else.

The friendliness and camaraderie is unparalleled.

My old man came to our event on the weekend. It was his first taste of running events.

I turned around for just a second, and he's chatting to a group of trail runners around the morning fire pit before they head off for 50km of glorious elevation.

From event organisers, to runners, to volunteers, spectators and supporters, the community in running is something special.

That's all for this week.

Run well,
Robbie
