RUNLY NEWSLETTER #4

Thursday Feb 16th 2023

Hey!

I promise I'll try to start less newsletters off with 'Wow, what a week!'. But not this time.

Wow, what a week!

After many placed their pre-orders, or purchased during the VIP launch, stock finally arrived and all orders have been sent!

It looks 9 hours and 53 minutes over 24 hours to get orders sent, most of which were late at night or very early in the morning - but I got there!

I'm super appreciative of the support from the Runly/running community. It's only just the beginning and it's great to have you here for the journey.

If you're new to the Runly weekly newsletter, this is my chance to give you a real, no-filter look behind the scenes of starting and 'running' and running brand.

THE DISPATCH
9 hours and 53 minutes, 2 different pens, 3 permanent markers and a particularly sore forearm. But, we got it done. If you were part of the pre-order club, or purchased during the VIP night you will have received an email with your tracking info.

There's something very calming, yet agonising, about sending and writing orders by hand. Sure, there are better solutions. But for our early VIP's and brand adopters I want to make sure I handwrite a thank-you note in every order. It's the least I can do!

THE ANGRY EMAILER
Unfortunately this week I faced my first angry customer, well, subscriber. I knew it was going to happen eventually, unfortunately in my experience running any business it's difficult to keep everyone 100% happy, but I do try my best.

I would say I take these sort of things personally, which I'm sure if you ask any successful person in business they would say that's not a good thing. Naturally it does get me down, I do feel a bit flat from it. However, if you take anything from that, I hope it will be that you know that I care.

It took just one swift reply to explain the situation to the subscriber and the problem was solved.

Why am I telling you this?
Sure, it's got absolutely nothing to do with running. But it does give you a glimpse into the people (or person) behind the brand, me. Someone who is super passionate and rides every bump. It's a glimpse into what it's like running a brand or business.
WHAT'S IN MY RUNLY?
I thought you might be interested in what I'm carrying in my Runly. Here's what I've got:

1) Phone
2) House keys
3) Epipen
4) Asthma puffer
5) Debit card
& for runs 10km+:
6) Energy gel

If you haven't already, get involved by joining the Team Runly Facebook Group here and introduce yourself!

+ If you haven't got yourself a Runly running vest yet, you can get one here. I'll be writing a note in every order!

Til' next week.

Run well,
Robbie
