Wow, that was special
Many of you will have absolutely nothing to do with the Melb Mara. Maybe you live in another state, perhaps even another country. But I think everyone can appreciate the significance of having the brand showcased at our home-town race in front of almost 90,000 people! It was definitely a pinch-me moment.
Hybrid Pro Release 2, Melb Mara & Community.
If you're a regular reader of the Runly Newsletter, you might be wondering why I'm sending this edition on Wednesday, instead of the usual Thursday. Well, because as of 6am tomorrow morning I am going to be spending four days at the Melbourne Marathon.
Sold Out Drop, Big-Send & Frantic Planning.
In case you missed all the commotion, last night we dropped our brand new running vest - The Hybrid Pro. It feels really good to finally get this campaign out there. It's been in the works for about a year. The product development has been long and I never gave the final tick of approval until I was absolutely happy with it.
It's All Over
If you read this weekly founder newsletter on the regular, there's a good chance you know I've battled with a knee injury in recent times that's brought my running to a complete hault. 9 scans. 4 physios. 1 sports doc. 1 surgeon. 1 surgery. I had surgery around 4 weeks ago to finally get to the source of the problem.
Founder Update #81
You only have to attend one single event, Parkrun or run club to make a new friend, and to understand how powerful it is for runners (or just humans in general) to come together to form micro-communities. It's something I love, and always have admired about the running community.
Lots of Runly's + ups & downs.
Wow, it's the 80th weekly founder update. That's wild!Like, I've sat down for an hour every week for 80 weeks in a row to write this weekly founder update. That's pretty cool. Let's hope it continues for another 1000 weeks. Surely we need to do something fun for the 100th edition, right? I don't know, maybe a founder's run in Melbourne. Who's keen?
Let's talk about momentum.
You know, one thing I really value is momentum. It's extremely hard to get, and easy to lose. If you've got momentum, it makes things a lot easier. It's like running with the wind behind you in a race.
Knee surgery update, pink vests, final stock + hoodies
I always wonder whether I should start these founder updates by introducing who I am - because our community is growing quickly. If you're new here, my name is Robbie. I'm the founder of Runly.
