Well, here's something you probably weren't expecting in this week's founder update. Over the last couple of months, but more frequently in the last couple of weeks we've been testing the waters on some international markets. Could Runly be sold worldwide? Why not, right?

After a couple of interesting discussions this week it occurred to me that sometimes the perception of Runly right now is that it's much bigger than it is. This week I've spoken to both external people in events and retail and they both mentioned how big Runly had become. I also spoke with a close friend who had the perception that Runly was huge. That was really interesting to me, because it's not ha.

Insight Into How I Create New Products

At any given time, I'm probably working on 3-6 different products in the background. The reality is that maybe 50% or more don't make the cut. Last week for example, I had been working on a new product for months. We had iterated the design 5-6 times. Sampled. Tested. But we just couldn't get it exactly how we wanted. So we cut it. One step back, two steps forward. Could we have released that product?

Recap Of Our Biggest Event Yet!

Last weekend we popped up at our biggest event yet - the Mornington Running Festival. We were there over two massive days which saw a sold-out 3,500 runners pound the pavement along the scenic beach front course. It was our biggest event so far in many ways.

60th Founder Updates

Wow - it's the 60th week in a row I've sent you this weekly founder update. This week it's on a Wednesday, instead of the usual Thursday. The reason is because tomorrow (Thursday) is ANZAC day and out of respect I thought I'd get it out to you today. When I look back at why I started doing this, it was because I wanted you to know more about the person behind the brand. As a small business it's something I can do. It's not something the big international brands can do. Well they can, but it would be an email from a board of directors in suits (ha).

Is it just me or is time flying? There’s so much happening at the moment there’s not a lot of time to stop and reflect. I’ve found myself working a lot more recently. And I say working. But when you love it, it doesn’t feel like work so much. It’s an exciting time in the Runly-sphere. We’ve got lots happening, lots of plans in the works and now it’s about just making sure we make it all happen!

I've had a pretty wild start to the year! There's been so much happening, there hasn't really been a moment to take a breath! Are we really at the end of March already? Feels like we were just bringing in the New Year last week. Easter? Stop it!
